New B+ model of Raspberry Pi launched today

Two years after the original Raspberry Pi was launched, the B+ version has just been released today.

It features:

  • More GPIO – now 40 pins

  • A Micro SD – the old SD card socket has been replaced with a push-push Micro SD version
  • Lower power consumption – reduced by between 0.5W and 1W
  • Better audio – the audio circuit incorporates a dedicated low-noise power supply
  • A neater design

Find out more about the new version from the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
